Craft Fair! - Tunbridge Wells Pantiles

Well - my first "proper" craft fair - or Craft Market as it is officially called. Spent every spare hour preparing, writing lists, stressing. Still didn't have enough stock really to fill up the stall but it wasn't a problem in the end as I only sold three things!! So depressed! Think I am better spending off my time selling online - so my next job is to list everything on my Esty and Folksy stores - can't get any worse I guess!! :0(

  1. Three things is excellent! I wish I'd known about the fair in Tunbridge Wells - I would've come down and bought something!

  2. I can't believe you only sold three things - your stall looks absolutely gorgeous. I would definitely have bought at least one thing had I been there.
Mind you, I get depressed on Etsy every day. I put something on there that I think is a surefire seller and then nothing happens! I love Etsy though for the look of the site - it just looks so professional - so I'll stick with it. At least I'll have lots of stock for a Christmas market! What's Folksy like - never heard of it - I'll go and have a look.
Keep smiling - there is nothing wrong with your stuff - it's gorgeous.

  3. Don't give up on craft market and you did sell 3. Maybe it was a bad day or not the "right" market. One trick I've learnt is signage. It gives folks a reason to stop at your booth. Never fails. :D

  4. Oh, do not get depressed, your work is just fabulous! I have had similar experiences but then sold quite nicely on etsy (and only one item to my homecountry, Finland!), so there you should be also! And I will for sure buy those sock mice of yours from there, I just cannot get them done as yours are so perfect!

    Yours,
    Mia

  5. I found your blog via your Flickr and oh your creations are so lovely! Sorry to hear your craft market didn't go as well as you'd hoped. I'd love to bookmark your Etsy or Folksy shop but I can't find the links anywhere - are they up and running?

  6. Thanks everyone for your supportive comments. Still not keen on doing any more craft fairs - seem to do much better online - just by showing my work on flickr I get lots of interest. Am branching out though - will soon be selling on notonthehighstreet.com - thought I wouldn't get accepted but I did and am now in the process of photographing and listing my products. Should be live within the next two weeks!! - www.notonthehighstreet.com/thebeautyisinthedetail
Will annouce this on this blog once it's all live!! So excited!!

Catherine - my Etsy and Folksy shops are empty I'm afraid - will have about 15 or so of my products on NOTHS but if there is anything you like on my flickr gallery (which shows everything I make) just let me know. I also take commissions!

  9. Thanks Jungledrums!! The bird stands are on sale in larger M&S stores now - you will find them in the jewellery section (normally on top of the display plinths). They sell for £15 - bargain!!

Hopefully they will still have stock as they are selling so well they have just re-ordered several thousand more!!
